I want to start off saying I’ve eaten at Tesfa at least 15 times over the last 5-7 years (when they were at their old location). I’m from Minnesota and have had lots of exposure to Ethiopian food. This place *was* my favorite place in Chicago. Unfortunately it has gone dramatically downhill and the food is awful and the price is sky high. It was $40 per person for 3 of us to have a platter that claimed to feed 4-5 people. There is zero chance that would be enough food as we cleaned up the entire plate with average appetites. Also the flavoring was very bland and not rich like Tesfa used to be. I was honestly shocked. But to top it off, the food was served lukewarm—the meats had cold bits (clearly indicative of being microwaved), and the lentils were cold. At $40 per person for bland lukewarm food, this place is now a joke and I will absolutely not be going back. Their food is objectively now terrible and not worth the time. I hope the owner reads this review and changes course. What a pity, used to be so good
