The food was a solid 5/5… but the service was so bad 1/5… so that just ruined the experience for me…. I know we came for the food, but the way the waiter and what appeared to be the owner acted was rude and standoffish. The restaurant was empty, there was no rush inside, so I don’t know if they just didn’t like us, overall vibe was off the entire time. They got my order wrong, but I let it slide because, at the end of the day, food is food, and I was down to try new things, and it tasted great regardless. The food also took over 35 minutes to come out, as it seemed like they were prioritizing online orders over the customers dining in. As orders were coming in and leaving, as we sat and waited. So maybe, there should be more order in that sense, that way people who dine in can also get a good experience like people who order out. Food was good, so the behavior was criminal…. at first I was like you know what it okay, the food made up for it. But no the final straw was the payment experience. The person handling the payment seemed to be rushing me. I asked him twice if I could see the receipt first so I could check the total, but instead of showing it to me, he continued to put the price into the kiosk and then even trying to reach for my phone ushering me to pay…. I had to ask again, essentially saying, “Can I please see the price first?” so I could double check everything and he kept telling me to wait, and pay….like huh!?? I found the whole interaction so bizarre because I’ve never had someone try to rush me into paying BEFORE allowing me to see the receipt and confirm the amount. It made an already uncomfortable experience even worse, and I was genuinely flabbergasted. Too add on… my friend was writing down the tip, the person taking payment (who may have been the owner) kept looking back at us and giving us looks. I thought they weren’t supposed to hover around us during that part(mind you when we were dining, not once did they check up on us) Maybe they didn’t like us (sorry for breathing) or maybe this was just an original experience. I honestly don’t know. The food is amazing, but it’s a shame that the service was so bad because it really brought down the entire experience. I was expecting more. I usually don’t go out of my way to write reviews like this because I prefer to stay positive, but I just had to give my two cents. Maybe they prioritize online orders so much that they don’t know how to interact with customers dining in, but whatever the case, the behavior was not justified. I’ve had this spot on my list forever, and I finally came to try it. The food definitely lived up to the hype, but it’s a shame the service was so disappointing.
