Bati Ethiopian Kitchen

Bati's menu is fairly limited compared to other Ethiopian restaurants in the city. The night we were there, early on a Saturday night they had replaced a lamb dish with a beef dish but neither the menu changed nor did the staff warn us about this. They seemed to be out of other things as well. For a Saturday night early this does not say good things about the place or its ability to survive. Many of the dishes were lackluster overall. They were definitely short staffed as the restaurant filled up.

We found a hair cooked directly into our meal. While the staff did comp the food, they still charged us for our drinks. Having basic food safety and kitchen hygiene overlooked is unacceptable, and charging us for drinks after a ruined meal makes a bad situation worse. Sadly, we won't be returning after this experience.
