Thelewala is officially my new favorite spot for kathi rolls in NYC! 🌯🇮🇳 We tried the Thelewala Chicken Roll and Chapli Kebab Roll, and both were absolutely delicious! Freshly made, packed with flavor, and perfect for a quick, satisfying meal. Their chai was fabulous too—definitely worth ordering alongside your rolls. I was tempted to try the Chicken Phall Roll but will save that for my next visit! The food is prepared fresh right in front of you, yet the service is quick. The space is small and casual, with the feel of a traditional thela (street-food cart) back home in India. It’s all about the food, with no fuss or frills. If you love Indian street food, put Thelewala on your NYC food list. Fantastic kathi rolls, great chai, and an authentic street-food vibe. I can’t wait to return!

A great place to get affordable Indian street food near NYU's campus. The thelewala chicken roll really hits the spot when it's late and night and it's cold out. The spice warms you right up and the roll is quite filling. Easy to munch on as you walk home after a long day.
