The coffee is to die for here, so delicious!
This place was very disappointing. The portions were very small, and the price did not reflect the quality of the food. The service was slow; we ordered two pasteles, four croquetas, and two empanadas, and it took nearly 20 minutes. The size was about one-fourth of a normal pastel at nearly double the price. The food was rather bland; the racetrack had better empanadas than this place. As for the croquetas, don't even get me started; they were round and oddly shaped, and the flavor was not there at all. This is not the place for you if you want traditional-style Cuban food. We went to Publix for pasteles and empanadas after we tried this place, which is settling, of all places, and that was better. To reply yo your comments: No, I had to settle for that and found it better than what you served. I grew up in Miami with corner store bakeries. One of my favorites is Karla Bakery on Flagler. Check it out if you are ever in the heart of Miami. I was looking for real, authentic food, which is why I came to you but had to settle for that, which is why I chose the words in my review. Your food was very bland. The empanadas had what looked to be just meat. Again, no flavor; sorry, your stuff is just not my thing but good luck.
Hi Mike! It sounds you’re used to the quality of frozen food from Race Trac and Publix. If that’s what you enjoy, we understand that our flavor may not be your taste. Glad you came by and gave us a chance.
