I ate at The Dunbar while in town for work for a couple of days. It was easily the best meal and dining experience I've had in quite some time. I had the Oxtail Gratin, which was so rich and flavorful. If you've never had oxtail before (I hadn't up to that point) and wonder what the taste and texture is like, imagine the best pot roast of your life, but 10x better. The cornbread pudding I had for dessert is the best bread pudding I've ever had. I sat at the bar since I was solo and enjoyed fantastic service and a great conversation with the very personable bartender. She explained the history of the building, other dishes to try if I'm ever back (the Branzino was her top rec), and recommended other places to check out while I was in town. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just want a nice dinner, The Dunbar should be your 1st choice.

An exceptional dining experience! The owner, hostess and wait staff were so accommodating and courteous. The restaurant itself is a historic gem, perfect for this restaurant. The decor and furnishings are fabulous. I could live there. The live music, by a beautiful couple, was dreamy. They almost brought me to tears with nostalgia and pride. The cuisine delectable. My favorite Haitian dishes are reimagined without losing authenticity. The AK-Dun cocktail was delicious. Now I crave akasan for breakfast tomorrow. My sister and I agree that the Cornbread Kremas Pudding was the best dessert that we have ever had. It’s the best of our Haitian roots and the Deep South where we have new roots. I’ll be trying to find my way back here again for sure.

Loved the Dunbar!!! Definitely a vibe! The intimate setting in an old home was beautiful. They had low noise live music on a Sunday night. Staff was above and beyond welcoming and accommodating. UD and Alana(our servers) and the hostesses were absolutely fabulous. The food was so creative and delicious! I definitely recommend checking out the Dunbar for a unique, fun & delectable dining experience. Great place to share food as well. Only complaint, tables are a little small for all the food we tried! Go!
