Tanoreen is, in my opinion, one of the best restaurants in all of NYC, the capital of the world. I’m a huge fan of Palestinian cuisine and have had many variations, but Tanoreen brings a unique whim of traditional flavors and refinement. The service here is phenomenal, extremely attentive and speedy. Some of the best I’ve had in the city! Everything on the menu is phenomenal, but some of my personal highlights are the meat grape leaves, crispy halloumi cheese, fatoush salad, sautéed dandelion, and the chicken kabob (so tender and the rice with garlic sauce is perfect). Tanoreen is also the home of my personal favorite knafeh in all of New York City. It’s always baked to perfect, tastes like orange blossom, and reminds me of the knafeh my lifelong friend made me in high school. 🥹 This restaurant is a Bay Ridge legend for a reason. Please consider this place as a pick to impress a date, friends from out-of-town, or even yourself as a nice treat. I’ll be back shortly, and will be buying the Tanoreen cookbook for myself this Christmas. 🤍🇵🇸

Unfortunately it may have been an off night for them but the special dish - Lamb Shank Makbouleh was not seasoned and lacked flavor. My partner found it completely unpalatable. The red snapper “fisherman’s meal” I had was lacking too. The fish was tough and rubbery. I suspect an assortment of mezzes is the way to go here. The crispy zatar flat bread was great. We also has the root vegetable salad, a special, which was fine. As was the lentil and butternut squash soup.

As first timer in this area, this resto has a warm, sophisticated, and deeply welcoming atmosphere. It blends upscale Middle Eastern dining with a cozy, family-run neighborhood charm that makes you feel instantly at home. Food & Taste: - Appetizers: We started with the cauliflower salad - crispy, perfectly spiced, and full of texture, alongside the meat grape leaves, which were tender, flavorful, and expertly rolled. - Main: For the main course, we ordered the special menu lamb shank maklobeh. It was absolute perfection: the lamb fell right off the bone, and the spiced rice layered underneath absorbed all those rich, comforting flavors. - Dessert: We finished with the kunafe, and it was the ultimate sweet (not too much), cheesy, and crunchy finale to an incredible meal. Service Attentive, gracious, and knowledgeable. The staff guide you through the menu and specials with genuine warmth and professionalism.
