Very disappointing experience at this masjid. I came around 10:00 PM to pray Isha while I was in the area. I searched for a nearby masjid, and this one came up. Instead of being welcomed into Allah’s house, I was treated with disrespect the moment I walked in. The muazzin approached me rudely and demanded to know why I entered the masjid. I told him I came to pray, yet he responded by telling me I could not pray inside and had to pray outside. He then aggressively questioned why I left my shoes on the stairs. At that point, I asked if there was any rule against it. If the masjid was about to close, he could have simply explained that politely and respectfully. There was no reason to speak in such a rude and aggressive manner. I came to the masjid for peace and prayer, not to be interrogated or disrespected. No one should make worshippers feel unwelcome in a masjid. Acting like you own the masjid and driving people away from prayer is shameful behavior.
