“5 Star” Ling was awesome!

I haven’t been to a PF Changs in YEARS - we were at the mall and for unknown reasons I recalled loving the lettuce wraps so we decided to go in. They weren’t busy, but I guess we didn’t look fancy enough to sit in the main dining area- they put us at the table next to the server entrance at the back of the bar. The bartender was our server and after getting us drinks and taking our appetizer order (lettuce wraps) she disappeared for an uncomfortable amount of time without taking our entree order. We had finished the appetizer before she came back… the lettuce wraps were “ok” but not as good as I remember and outrageously priced given its nominal ingredients ($17). We ordered the Orange Chicken and Mongolian Chicken - thankfully the kitchen wasn’t as slow as our server so we didn’t have to wait too long after ordering..BUT the experience tanked further from there. The Mongolian Chicken was so salty and had a bizarre almost burnt flavor/taste - I rarely complain or send food back, but it was inedible. I had also ordered the brown rice which was very dry and also inedible. Our server had breezed by us so quickly that we didn’t have an opportunity to say anything about the dish… we ended up grabbing someone else walking by and they offered to make us something else (we opted for more Orange Chicken). Before the replacement food came, another bartender had brought us the check just as we finished the first plate of chicken…. we felt rushed at that point and over the whole experience so when the second dish arrived about 8 min later we had then box it to go. They did take the Mongolian Chicken off the bill, but offered no discount on the replacement chicken. Over $70 for an appetizer and 2 mediocre entrees with bare minimum customer service - frustrating and disappointing.
