Great food and service

It is disappointing to share this review as I have been a customer of Lotus for probably 15+ years going back to when they were located in Wilton Manors. However, today's visit was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. The first of many disappointing experiences tonight began with our server Brenda. I have had the unfortunate luck of being served by Brenda on prior visits as well and I am not sure what the disconnect is but she consistently delivers the worst customer service possible. Upon being seated, we asked Brenda to provide an empty glass because I am only able to drink room temperature water due to stomach sensitivity (I had a bottle of room temperature water with me that I preferred to drink instead of ice cold water). A few minutes later, I am provided with a glass full of ice water. Mind you Brenda arrives to the table with paper and pen so I do not understand why she is unable to take orders correctly. Strike one. Next my spouse and I order combination dinners. For our entrees, I order the Beef and Broccoli combination dinner and my spouse orders the Shrimp and Broccoli combination dinner. Brenda then asks what soups we would like to order with our dinners. We both order Wonton soups and she appears to write the order down. Fast forward 20 minutes later and both of our entrees arrive. No soup. I don't know how Brenda is capable of ruining every dining experience but here we are. Besides the colossally incompetent service, the next disaster is the food. As I shared, I have been a customer of Lotus for 15+ years and I can honestly say that the quality has rapidly declined while the prices have only increased. The pork fried rice looked terrible (both the pork and rice were very pale) and the flavor was tasteless. My spouse's Shrimp and Broccoli featured 4 very small shrimp and a mound of broccoli. All of it lacked any flavor and the broccoli were completely overcooked. Unfortunately, tonight's experience was the final straw and I will not be returning ever again.
