Levantine Shawarma & Grill

I don’t know what happened in the last 9 months since i posted this review previously but I had a truly bizarre experience in there that would be unfair to not try and let others know about. To start the place was filthy, it looked like the kitchen hadn’t been wiped down and cleaned all day. There was trash on the floor and a dirty plate of food just sitting out at one of the tables while the one guy working just sat. We ordered two chicken pitas and the guy dumped some leftover chicken in a pan onto the grill before adding more. It seems like there is no respect for food safety here AT ALL, we threw our food straight into the trash after getting it because it seemed almost guaranteed to make us sick. Additionally, all the prices were covered up on the menu screens. This should have been the first sign that something was off, but I’ve had so many good experiences here in the past I was willing to look past it. When the guy rung us up it seemed like he never worked the POS before. He charged us $18 dollars each for a pita that used to cost $11. After we said something he offered us a “discount” at $25 total but he still was ringing us up for the wrong item and trying to get us to pay separately. The whole vibe was WEIRD and really sad to see a place that used to be awesome become this

I ordered take out an hour before I got there and found they hadn’t even started the order before I got there. Then he apparently didn’t even know what the order was because he handed me just the shawarma (in a wrap instead of pita like I ordered). I then had to wait 20 minutes for him to acknowledge me and then start cooking the fries. Despite ordering well in advance and showing up after the estimated arrival time, I still had to wait 30 minutes at the restaurant to get my food. Beyond the bad service, there’s just raw meat and fish drying out uncovered in the dessert fridge in the dining room. This was already my last chance with this place, and I won’t be returning. When it first opened, there’s food was fantastic and it was exciting, but now you’d be much better off just going to a halal truck on the street.
