Helenas Mexican Restaurant - Falls Church

If you are looking for FLAVORFUL AND FRESH food, Helena's Mexican in Falls Church is the place. This is an easy 5-star spot and I would go back here literally every day if I could. To start, I had the chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and it was a perfect 5 out of 5. Perfectly crisped on the outside, soft and cheesy inside, packed with juicy chicken. Not dry at all, just full of flavor. Service was great - everyone was so friendly and welcoming and you can tell they're busy and need a little more coverage overall because their food is so good. So for service speed, 4 out of 5. Even with that, the speed of the food was a 5 out of 5. Everything came out quickly and piping hot, you never felt like you were waiting. Freshness? Another perfect 5 out of 5, hands down. All the food was freshly made and you can taste it. That alone would make me come back nonstop. For my main dish I got the carne tacos - loaded full, not skimpy at all. Comes with rice and beans, and the best part - the meat was not dry or old at all like you get at some places. It was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. And you have to save room for dessert. I had the pumpkin flan and it's a 5 out of 5. The freshness, the flavor, and those toasted pumpkin seeds on top - incredible. So unique and so good. Oh and the salsa for the chips... you could eat it all day. Fresh, zesty, addictive, and the smoky flavor is out of this world. And don't sleep on the guava margarita! Willy and the team here have hit a home run. The food is out of this world. Easily recommend to anyone who wants real, fresh, flavorful Mexican food.

Outside dining was pleasant. Service was excellent. Food was very tasty and came out quick. Chips are crunchy and salsa is very tasty. Flavors are a bit different from the usual texmex. Maybe more of authentic mexican style. A must try.
