Café Laurel

Arrived at 9 but doors were closed and no one was outside. Knocked and they said server was late and we can order at the counter. Food was okay— French toast dry. Breakfast sandwich was really good. Server eventually got there but after checking in never checked on us once and just assumed we weren’t his customers despite us sitting at outside tables on site. Flys All over us and it smelled like sewage and dog pee outside although that was really a city problem and no so much the restaraunt. Staff at the counter were really nice.

This place is no longer French. It is a very average menu that you would literally see anywhere in Miami. The menu has changed and they don’t have escargot, frog legs, French onion soup etc. The closest thing that is French is selling a burger called the French burger, steak frites, and a croissant, which is a very low bar. Once you start selling croquetas and Cuban sandwiches, can you really call yourself French??

came by for drinks after dinner in the world center. sat at the bar - great atmosphere and great vibes with Luis, Tiffany, and two of the chefs whose names I can’t remember. will definitely come to try the food!! they also have a ventanita that is open for breakfast and lunch :) awesome spot that all locals should check out!
