Meh. Overpriced mediocre Asian food. Shabby, rickety outdoor seating. Indoor seating is open, like eating in a warehouse. Music is for teens/early 20s age group. Some seafood dishes, but they won't tell you where it's from: "chef's secret." (In Richmond, Va, there's no such thing as local seafood, btw). Tables are sticky, and when you use a wipe to clean them, it's black from built-up filth. Restrooms are extremely shabby, worse then a Fan basement loo, and they don't appear clean. Dirt around the door handles everywhere. If a bathroom door is dirty on the inside, you know what that is. I've used cleaner, nicer restrooms on fishing piers and gas stations. Some fresh veggies in dishes, but cut WAY too large for a proper bite, and there are only forks and chopsticks, no knives. You'll have to pick up 3" long pieces of dripping sauce-covered celery with a fork and gnaw, hoping to not drip on your clothes. Fried rice was same texture as white rice and barely fried, but an extra charge, no flavour. Shrimp was not fresh, previously frozen. Calamari slightly overcooked, although the sauce and breading is tasty. Our entrées had a good flavour; the sauces are well-seasoned. Two large TVs broadcasting sports. Very loud atmosphere, and difficult to hear someone sitting at your table. Waitron was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and their talents are being wasted at Beijing on Grove. I do not recommend this restaurant. There are other restaurants in Richmond area that do Asian and atmosphere well.
