2.5 only bc place is immaculate and decorated beautifully but the music was too loud both times we went and we couldn'thave a conversation well. We have been there twice now one the other night and again a few weeks ago.... and it is 0 for 2 for a few of us food wise, okay for a few and good for another. This time was worse than the last because of lack luster service but our waitress could have been new. We waited for ever on silverware after food was served eventually asked someone else, never got refills and our server did not multi-task with the other tables well. The food was literally half bad half alright...I lived on the border of Mexico, learned several authentic recipes straight from the source and know there are many regional differences from family and friends including many innour party that go to mexico often... First, the bad... the chips are thick but stale both times like they were sitting out and made them hard to eat. The chili relleno was soggy and pratically empty, the red sauce on the enchiladas are not even close to a real red sauce it is a weird thin nasty orange sauce simular looking to one of the sauces on the table and to boot they are child sized and made with street taxo shells. The tamales were dry like sand and bland, one person said their burrito was simply alright so they ate only half and need to put more flavor in it at home and the salad entrée was barely an entrée and more of a glorified side salad spread out on a plate thin and topped with meat.... Now the good the salsa is fresh, I was told the two different shrimp dishes were well cooked. The rice was pleasant. as was the beans which are soupy but have good flavor! The Guacamole was nice and chunky and not just mush.... Giving this place a 3rd try is up for debate for half our uaual party of 6 to 8. I would prefer to go out of my way to a few other places in town.
