Amazing food and desert must visit place. Yosuf did great while suggesting the food items

This was the best meal I’ve had in NYC! I kept expecting that there would be something that was less appealing or tasty, but every dish that came out of the kitchen was truly delicious. I’ve never had Turkish food before, but it won’t be my last - nor will it be my last visit to Nar. As I told one of the owners and the service team, if I lived here, I would eat there every week! Great friendly service and a very charming vibe.

We had the most amazing experience at Nar, easily my favorite Turkish restaurant in New York, and honestly one of my favorite restaurants in the city! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. A special thank you to the owners and everyone involved making our celebration so special💕We had such a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back!

We had dinner at Nar last night, and it was such a wonderful experience. The waitresses were incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening. We ordered the meze platter, içli köfte, shashlik, and Nar kebab. The içli köfte was a little different from the traditional version we are used to, but it was still very enjoyable. The highlight of the meal, however, was definitely the shashlik — absolutely delicious and one of the best dishes of the night. Having been away from Turkey for a long time, it was also incredibly special to spend an evening surrounded by Turkish music, food, and people speaking Turkish around us. For a few hours, it genuinely felt like being back in Turkey. If you are looking for an authentic Turkish atmosphere in New York, Nar is definitely the place to go. If I ever find myself in New York again, I will absolutely come back.

Manti was not cooked properly, and dry. It tasted as though the chef prepared in advance and it sat on the counter for a long time. Before switching from appetizers to main, the waiters tried to rush us to finish things, attempting to take our plates “so that” they bring our main. Similarly, our waiter was a bit too informal with our table, which may be considered nice but a restaurant attempting to be a bit more upper scale shouldn’t tolerate informal interactions between waiters and customers. Finally, the place literally smelled like restroom… their downstairs toilets are directly exposed to a whole way connecting to the dining room, so how ever the AC system is designed, it brings the whole smell up. I’d be very happy to revise my comments and change my rating in the future based on improvements, but as it stood, NAR was not doing good. This is an interesting shift from the time they have opened, when I thought the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Somethings must have changed.
