Food was good but what a rip off. I just wanted meat and rice with tzatziki sauce and extra meat. She said I have to pick sides so I got cheese. It was over $40. I saw I was getting charged double for the cheese. So I said take off the cheese I just want meat and rice. Ended up paying $32 for this. I asked about the sauce when I got my food and they said I had to pay more. What a joke.
Hi Chris, thank you for the honest feedback — and we're really glad you enjoyed the food. Just to clarify how our menu works: we don't do custom rice/meat/sauce plates; we serve gyro pitas, plates, and bowls. A bowl is $21.12 and includes up to two bases (a full pound of rice if you go all rice), 4 toppings, 2 sauces, and your choice of gyro meat — 4.5 oz of gyro, 6 oz of toppings, 4 oz of sauce. Add cheese as the fifth topping and you're at $23.12, and adding another 9 oz of gyro brings it to $39, since that's three full portions of meat plus the whole bowl — à la carte protein is priced higher everywhere. Since you didn't want the toppings, our cashier walked you through all of this and rang you two 6.5 oz sides of gyro (nearly three portions of meat) plus a side of rice — $30 plus tax. The bowl would honestly have been the better value from the start. Our sides don't include sauce — our tzatziki is made fresh daily by hand with real ingredients, no machines, and its cost is built into our meals. Our meats are antibiotic-free, seed-oil-free, with no preservatives, all natural — and for that quality we work hard to stay one of the most fairly priced spots around. We'd love another chance to show you the value — come try a bowl next time. — Team Love 'N Gyros
