Jang Won Restaurant

Great food, wonderful service, and a welcoming atmosphere! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service was wonderful from start to finish. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a comfortable, welcoming feel that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Jangwon Banjum has a great selection of Korean-Chinese favorites, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to try more. Definitely recommend!

Unfortunately, the food and service at Jang Won have become increasingly disappointing. We went on Friday night and placed a to-go order. Our food was ready within 10 minutes, which made us wonder if it had been prepared ahead of time. The quality seems to get worse every time we visit. We ordered 간짜장 (gan-jjajang), but what we received did not seem like authentic gan-jjajang—it tasted more like regular 짜장면 jajang. The sauce was watery and tasted old. The meat had an unpleasant smell and was dry and chewy. The food simply did not taste fresh or good. Unfortunately, both of us experienced stomach pain and became sick the following day. Of course, we cannot say for certain that the food caused it, but the timing was concerning. This also wasn’t our first disappointing experience. On a previous visit, the 짜장 sauce was extremely gluey (too much constach). The sweet-and-sour sauce was served hard and cold. When we mentioned it to the server, we were told that was how it was supposed to be served, which honestly made us laugh. We grew up eating this food our entire life and know what it should taste and feel like. We have given Jang Won many chances but unfortunately, this last visit was our final one. We feel like we are wasting our money when the quality and service continue to decline. We will be sticking with Joongmi from now on.
