Island Spice Grill Jerk Spot

I just wanted some jerk chicken and ended up getting a whole plate ! lol thank you guys for the wonderful food and service. I’m from NY, where good Jamaican food is not hard to find. Here in Jacksonville it can be , but this spot was worth the drive. Just to add, I was given a ton of jerk sauce, which is not pictured here omg the sauce was 10/10.

Let me be very clear: this food did NOT live up to the hype, and in my opinion, it was nowhere close to authentic Jamaican cooking. The cabbage was not prepared well, and the jerk chicken was extremely disappointing. It was overpriced, lacked seasoning, and honestly did not give me the authentic Jamaican flavors I was expecting. Instead of tasting like food from the island, it tasted more like American-style cooking. There was nothing about the meal that made me feel like I was getting an authentic Jamaican experience. I know everyone has different tastes, but based on my experience, I don’t understand the hype surrounding this food truck. The food did not match what is being promoted, and for the price, I expected much more. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican flavor, this experience didn’t deliver that for me.

My brother who lives in NY told me about this place. He is right, the food taste so good. I'll definitely be back.
