I'm so crushed I've been coming to this location since 2016 with my husband and it'll be our last visit. First I went to the sauce bar and saw there were gnats, understandable they're everywhere and unavoidable. Second I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and was greeted with diarrhea splatter on the wall by the toilets. 🤢🤮. Halfway through dinner with my husband I saw a baby roach scuttle across our table. We killed it with a menu, I waived it off at first hoping it was a fluke. Until I saw another one on the table next to ours.... I've never seen this location so completely empty, but after seeing the roaches now I know why. It was extremely disheartening, we loved Hot Spot for our date nights and the service is great! Though this will be our last visit unless they deal with the roaches.
I agree with another reviewer noting, "not great for a very first time hot pot experience". The tables are designed for a good food experience and not necessarily a hot pot lesson. I was amused by a neighboring table being subject to a photoshoot. It was unclear if they were just social media influencers or hired models for the restaurant. I truly enjoyed the food and hope this spot does well. The neighboring restaurants in the strip mall seem to be passed by for the fast food place down the street... but I am assuming that speaks to the economy rather than the restaurant options.
