Walked in 1st time ever (never even knew the place existed) to get some lunch, no one at the counter, then a waitress shows up behind the counter, no greeting or acknowledgement. According to the receipt, cat named "Pio H." (maybe that was the kitchen staff, Idk, who knows?) shows up right after, no greeting or acknowledgement, starts checking out a bagged order on the counter belonging to a gent waiting patiently who comes up to ask about his order, apparently there was a few more minutes to wait. Finally he (Pio H.) walks over, stands in front of me, no greeting still, asked with a gruff manner "can I help you?" that didn't feel or sound genuine. I'd been looking at the menu and asked for an L7. His eyebrows furrow and he rudely asks "what's that!?", I said lunch menu item. He gets an angry look on his face, shakes his head, says "naw, we don't do lunch menu on the weekends!". Ok, so I ask what's like it I can order, he said "only full dinner portion", which to me meant leftovers for later or tomorrow, and I agreed. While he's running my debit, he says it doesn't come with rice and I replied "Ok, don't want or need it, but it does have mix veggies as a base, right?", he nodded and said "I'm telling you it doesn't come with rice", once more I said "Ok, dont want or need it". He pursued the matter by telling me "most people want the rice", at which I said "that's fine, it's Ok with me not to have rice". He looked unhappily confused, like it didn't make sense. Once he ran the card and I was signing, I asked if I could please purchase an egg roll, and apologized that I'd forgotten to add to the order. Once more, his eyebrows furrowed, shaking his head (like I'm an idiot and I've ordered from them a million times, and should know better), he says "an order is 2 egg rolls, you can'tjust get 1", I once more agreed, paid for it ($30 for lunch) and asked how long, he stated 15-20 minutes since I added the egg rolls and that added to the cook time, I nodded in acknowledgement, stated I'd be back and went next door to the original destination of that trip. I came back not yet full 15 minutes later, sat to wait whatever time was left for the order to be ready, but I barely unlocked my phone to be entertained while waiting when he whipped around the corner of the booth and said "here, you're all done!". I was completely startled, surprised unexpectedly. Took the very small bag, said "Thank you!" No reply. Now, lunch portion is supposed to be small, a dinner portion should be a bit more sizeable. Anywhere else, you'd be correct. Not this joint, no wonder he pushed the rice. And since it's a separate item, it'd be more money. The full dinner portion I got needa rice as a filler. The egg rolls need to come in pairs because most places don't serve tiny egg rolls like they sell, most places have egg rolls the size of 1 and a half of these egg rolls. The main dish was not outstanding in any way to distinguish their cuisine from most Asian eateries and the agg rolls were obviously deep fried in a hurry and had not been drained properly of any excess grease. The pastry dough was flaky only on 1 of the egg rolls. For this girl, it's most def a "one and done"! Surly, bad attitude customer service, indifferent staff, and Ok food. Don't waste your money or time.

I usually get carry out.. I've had multiple occasions of my order coming home wrong. After the 2nd time this happened, I made it a point to tell the person that they have been getting my order wrong. They guy blamed me. I let that go and proceeded to order again. This time not only did I say my order very clear, I said it very slow. I then asked him to repeat it back. And again he got it wrong. As I told him that he got it wrong again, I corrected it and then asked to speak to the manager. He said that he was the manager. I asked about owner and he would not give me that info. I've been going to Ginger Bistro for years. The food is great.Hope you get your order right.
