Unfortunately there may not be a 2nd chance for a first impression. Food was ready on time - that’s a positive. However, upon arriving home and opening up our meal, we were VERY disappointed at the quality of the food. We started with wonton egg drop mix soup - it was ok Egg rolls- extremely greasy but ok Spare rib- HORRIBLE because we were given the meaty, cartilage-filled section of the ribs, not individual ribs. They would have been great for a stew, but we’re not “ribs.” Pork lo mein- really how can a decent restaurant mess up pork lo mein! Well, China Star 2 did mess up. The lo mein was a brown grease bowl, and the pork or any other ingredient in the dish was NOT recognizable or edible. I see some nice reviews and hopefully our experience is not the norm for this restaurant. If fresh delicious food doesn’t become routine here , I don’t expect to see their open sign up much longer.
