1983 Chinese Cuisine Restaurant

Food is much more expensive than other Chinese restaurant. Service is not good, no respect, and no one refilled water for us

I rarely write reviews, but our experience at 1983 Chinese Restaurant was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to share it. We arrived around 6:55 PM as a party of two and ordered two dishes and some drinks. Our waitress did not greet us and was rude and dismissive throughout the visit. There were no water refills, and she never checked on us to see how we were doing or whether we needed anything. Our food took about an hour to arrive, and my order was wrong. I ordered General Tso’s chicken but received orange chicken. The food was okay, but the service ruined the experience. Even trying to pay was frustrating. We called for the waitress multiple times, and she saw us but continued to overlook us. Meanwhile, the customers beside us, who arrived about 30 minutes later, paid before we did. The cleaning staff were helpful and were the ones who assisted us. They deserve credit for that. The restaurant looks fancy, but the service does not match. If the staff are too busy to provide basic attention, management needs to hire more people. Customers should not be left waiting without water refills, check-ins, or help paying their bill. If this treatment continues, it will drive customers away. It has certainly made us decide never to return.
